Belper holds spectacular wedding fayre

After an enormous donation of wedding dresses, our Belper shop joined forces with the Bentley Brook Inn to put on an amazing showcase of beautiful dresses and accessories for the perfect dream wedding.

Donations in the local area, including one from a photographer who had used brand new dresses for a photoshoot, meant that Julie Wells and Holly Jackson, the manager and assistant manager of the store, had more than 60 dresses for display in their shop.

They hit on the great idea of hosting a wedding fayre to show off their haul, and reached out to the Bentley Brook Inn, who provided a venue at no cost to the shop, to help them make it a reality.

The fayre took place on Sunday 26th May, and featured wedding dresses, accessories, shoes, bridesmaids dresses and outfits for other guests and participants. A local florist and a man who provided butterflies and doves to release at weddings also came along to show off their services.

In total, the fayre raised £1,200 in just five hours, and has made the Belper shop keen to repeat it.

“It was lovely,” said assistant manager Holly. “We had a really good day and are looking into putting on another event later this year.”

Every mission costs approximately £1,700 and on average we attend six rescue missions a day.
