Jump On Board and Join #TheCrew
#TheCrew is an exciting new children’s club linked to the Children’s Air Ambulance where children can learn about saving lives, helicopters, medicine, fundraising and how a charity works. The club offers advice and teaching on community work, volunteering, working as part of a team and supporting good causes which form part of many school curriculums.
Our members get to go to special events where they can see our helicopters, meet our pilots, doctors and paramedics. They might also be lucky enough to go play football with one of the England Lionesses, take an acting class with one of our famous ambassadors, visit a TV or film set or see a show or concert. They might visit stables where top racing horses are looked after, a fire station or get to see spectacular fireworks*. There are lots of exciting things available to members of #TheCrew.
If your child is already a member, check out the Parents Portal where you’ll find lots of really useful things to help your child with their membership.
How does membership work?
#TheCrew is completely free to join and it’s really easy to sign up. All we ask is that each member tries to raise £25 for each year they are with us. If they do a great job by either raising funds or spreading awareness, they could achieve silver, gold, platinum or High Flyer membership levels, which each come with additional rewards. And there is a great team on hand who can help with tips, materials and organisation.
How was it created?
It was the brainchild of our first ever ambassadors, Anna and Kloe. They heard about our young patients, saw our helicopters and wanted to help raise vital funds, but they didn’t want grown-ups telling them what to do.
So, they created their own fundraising club made for children by children.
Meet Our Mascot – Blade
Meet Blade, the mascot for the Children’s Air Ambulance’s club, #TheCrew. He loves meeting new people, especially our #TheCrew members.
Blade is fast and courageous just like the Children’s Air Ambulance Helicopter and loves meeting new people and posing for bear selfies.
If you spot him at an event, come and say hello and find out what you can achieve together as part of #TheCrew
Young Journalist Challenge
We are inviting budding journalists to participate in a unique opportunity to explore the skies and interview an air ambulance pilot or crew member at one of our bases! Uncover the stories behind their life-saving missions and share their experiences with the world!
What greater gift can you give a child than learning, experience and an achievement in actually helping to save lives?
Join the crew now and see where it takes you.
*All activities are subject to availability and whilst every effort is made to get our members to the events and experiences they want, they cannot be guaranteed at any particular time or date.
How do children sign up?

The Welcome Pack
What will the children receive?

Safeguarding
The health and safety of a crew member is paramount, therefore, we have robust fundraising guidelines.
Before a child undertakes any activity in their capacity as a crew member, please ensure you have familiarised yourself with the guidelines and that all relevant action is undertaken before the event commences. You can contact us on [email protected] or by telephone on 0300 3047 677.
