Peak District region Land Rover Club raise vital funds to support lifesaving charity

The Peak District region of the Land Rover Series Two Club have raised vital funds to support the lifesaving missions of the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA).

The Series Two Club was founded in 1984 by Ross Floyd and to date has nearly three thousand members across a total of twenty-one different areas spread throughout the UK and overseas.

Every year a Club Rally is organised and the event moves around to different venues to give members a chance to attend their local event. The weekend consists of bespoke camping, BBQ’s, beer tasting, scenic road runs, green laning, visiting local attractions and much more.

During the National Rally in 2023 they raised £963, which the club members then made up to over £1,000 to support the lifesaving missions of the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance – ensuring that the crews can continue to provide pre-hospital critical care to those who need it most.

“We are proud to have raise vital funds to support such an amazing charity and will continue to raise funds for them at our summer events,” said Andy Wright, a member of the club.

Within minutes, DLRAA’s critical care crews can be on the ground delivering pre-hospital emergency care and giving patients the very best chance of survival – this vital service relies entirely on donations to raise the £2,300 needed for each rescue mission, as the charity receives no government or National Lottery funding.

Community Fundraising Executive for Derbyshire, Tracey Jones said:

“We would like to say a big thank you to everyone involved in the Peak District region of the Land Rover Series Two Club. The vital funds raised will go towards the charity continuing to save lives in Derbyshire and further afield.”

“We rely entirely on voluntary donations and support from local communities and businesses like Land Rover Series 2 Club to keep our helicopters operational,” she added.
