Phil's Story
“Despite the amazing efforts of everyone else who attended me, I don’t think I’d be alive today. My cardiologist has told me that my chances of surviving were only 0.15 %. It really is a miracle that I’m still here”
Lying on his bedroom floor, after suffering a cardiac arrest in his sleep, Phil Hulland showed no signs of life for 26 minutes.

John's Story
“I suddenly felt as though I was going to pass out so I stepped on to the grass. That’s the last thing I remember until I woke up in hospital”
When retired retail manager John Putt (83) collapsed at Compton Verney in Warwickshire he was amongst a crowd of thousands of people.

Katie's Story
“If I hadn’t been flown in the air ambulance it maybe that I wouldn’t have made it. I could have lost my leg or my life”
Dental nurse Katie Pease had to be cut out of her car after it was involved in a head on collision with a truck on an icy road at Ashfordby Hill near Melton Mowbray.

Neil's Story
“It was a freak accident. All I can remember was choking. I was strapped in and jammed behind the steering wheel, whilst my head was pulled out of the vehicle and wedged between my truck and a tree”
Neil was attempting to reverse his Land Rover Discovery up a slippery slope when the throttle cable snapped. The vehicle lost power and drive which, in turn, caused it to shoot forwards.

Letitia's Story
“I owe my right leg, if not my life to the helicopter flying me to hospital so quickly”
Every time she sees or hears the local air ambulance flying above her, Letitia Hayward thinks of what might have been had it not come to her rescue.
