The National Children’s Air Ambulance (NCAA) is celebrating another fantastic success as its annual Doncaster Race Day raised an incredible £38,000 to support its lifesaving missions across the UK.

Held on Saturday 8 November 2025 at Doncaster Racecourse, the event once again brought together supporters and corporate partners from across the region for a day filled with fun, laughter, and remarkable generosity.

Guests enjoyed a packed programme of entertainment and fundraising, including silent and live auctions, a raffle, and the ever-popular heads and tails game. Thanks to the hard work of dedicated volunteers, all 2,000 raffle tickets were sold within hours, a testament to their enthusiasm and commitment.

The day was expertly hosted by comedian Gary Marshall, who kept the energy high between races with his humour and charisma. There were also powerful and emotional moments, including a welcome address from Chief Executive Officer Peta Wilkinson, an inspiring story shared by Emily Arnott about baby Mila’s transfer, and a moving speech by the Head of NCAA highlighting the critical work carried out by the charity.

Adding an unforgettable touch to the afternoon, the Amazing Singing Waiters took guests by surprise with a lively performance that had the entire room dancing and singing along.

Reflecting on the day, Business Development Manager Sharon Evans said: “Doncaster Race Day is always a special occasion, but this year truly exceeded all expectations. The generosity, enthusiasm, and warmth shown by our guests were incredible. To raise £38,000 in one day is a phenomenal achievement, and every penny will help us continue to provide lifesaving transfers for critically ill babies and children across the country.”

The National Children’s Air Ambulance is the UK’s only helicopter transfer service dedicated to babies and children. Operating two helicopters equipped as flying intensive care units, we work with Clinical Partner Teams nationwide to provide rapid, safe, and specialist transfers.

We receive no government funding and rely entirely on donations and corporate support to complete our lifesaving missions.

As another successful Race Day draws to a close, the charity extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended, donated, and contributed to making the event such a memorable day.
