New Year, New Challenge Events to Support Your Chosen Charity

With a new year comes a new determination to make a difference, tick something off your bucket list, or take on a new activity, so why not take on an epic challenge? – a great way to stay motivated and keep focused.

Why not team your new year goals with fundraising for a charity you’re passionate about? Charities have events and fundraisers throughout the year, allowing participants to gather support, raise funds and of course, train for the event.

So, what are some of the thrilling events The Air Ambulance Service has out there?

Arctic Survival Challenge
Take on the eight-day Arctic challenge in the stunning and pristine wilderness 150km south of the Arctic Circle and test your survival instinct. This once-in-a-lifetime experience will challenge your ability to adapt and live in the heart of this harsh environment. Experience the thrill of husky driving and snowmobiling as well as learn the life-saving skills of ice fishing and snow hole building to name a few. This is one challenge that will push you to your limit whilst giving you memories to last a lifetime.

London Landmarks Half Marathon
The London Landmarks Half Marathon is a closed road, central London run and is the only half marathon to go through both the City of London and City of Westminster. This event is not your average half marathon! Runners will explore the capital on a route like no other – from cultural landmarks to the city’s quirky and hidden secrets.

Liverpool Cathedral Abseil
Enjoy the thrill of abseiling off one of the UK’s most amazing buildings! Are you brave enough to descend 150ft from above the great West Door of the iconic Liverpool Cathedral? Face your fears and take on this epic challenge.

Channel Swim Relay
Are you ready for a challenge that will test you physically and mentally? Two teams of six will cover the 22 miles between Dover and Calais and take it in turns swimming the channel in rotation. This challenge can only be achieved with support, willpower and the right preparation, and you will be given all the support and resources possible to enable you to complete this lifetime achievement.
