Your Local Air Ambulance Quiz Raises over £4,000
Last night we had our annual quiz which is in its second year and turned out to be even bigger than 2018.
Hosted at the town hall in Rugby to support our Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance service, over 40 teams came to the take part and helped raised over £4,000.
The night started out with drinks and nibbles, before former patient Ralph Kenna introduced the evening. The Air Ambulance helped saved Ralph after he suffered a cardiac arrest outside a supermarket in the town. Ralph’s story reminded everyone the reason it’s so important to help raise vital funds to keep servicing those in need within the area.
After getting everyone in the mood for a night of fundraising, minds were tested with questions in the subjects of Arts and Literature, Food and Drink as well as Christmas Movies, meaning there was something that everyone could have a good go at.
Half way through, it was time to raffle off the amazing prizes that had been kindly donated. From hampers to theatre tickets, the generosity of supporters and sponsors offered something more than your average raffle, some people left with some great things to look forward to.
As well as the raffle, we also had a Silent Auction which also offered some incredible lots available, including riverboat trip, a Will writing service and flying lessons to name just a few! The offer of support was something that we couldn’t have ever predicted with many of the lots going above the guide price, and we can’t thank those who bought these enough, your contributions have made a huge difference.
So, who won the quiz and took home the trophy (literally):
- 1st Place – prize £100 – Now We Are Six
- 2nd Place – prize £50 – Flying Mob
- 3rd Place – prize £30 – Whirly Birds
All of these amazing teams donated their winnings back into the charity which was incredible generous.
Thank you to them, everyone who contributed to the evening, our volunteers for helping the event run smoothly and finally, our very own Quiz Master, Lee Bunting for putting on another fantastic evening!
