A quick response 
to save Penny’s life
Last summer, a holiday to Whitby turned into a medical emergency for Penny, a 19-month-old toddler who had already faced a life-changing battle before. Less than a year earlier, at just 8 months old, Penny had undergone a lifesaving liver transplant at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. But as her family gathered for a relaxing summer break, Penny’s health suddenly took a turn for the worse.

Helimed54 were tasked to a fall incident in Coalville at 11:47 and were on scene at 12:03. Working alongside EMAS, the crew assessed and treated a patient following a fall before transferring them to hospital by land ambulance for further specialist care.
Helimed54 were tasked to a trauma incident in Tibshelf at 14:51 and were on scene at 15:06. Working alongside EMAS, the crew provided advanced pain relief to a patient with an injury sustained while carrying out maintenance work before they were left in the care of the ambulance service for onward treatment.
Working alongside clinical partner team Embrace, the G-NICU crew and NCAA Airdesk team transferred a patient and their parent to Leeds General Infirmary in just 31mins. The same journey by road would have taken 1hr 56mins.
Helimed54 were tasked to a burns incident in Derby at 09:30 and were on scene at 09:42. Working alongside EMAS, the crew treated a patient injured following a fire before escorting them to hospital by land ambulance for further care.
Helimed53 were tasked to an RTC in North Northamptonshire at 10:38 and were on scene at 10:55. Working alongside EMAS, the crew treated a patient involved in a road traffic collision before transferring them to hospital by land ambulance
Helimed53 were tasked to a burns incident in Rugby at 08:01 and were on scene at 08:12. Working alongside WMAS, the crew assessed and treated two patients following a house fire before they were left in the care of the ambulance service for onward treatment.
Working alongside clinical partner team CoMET, the G-NICU crew and NCAA Airdesk team transferred a patient and their parent to London in just 45mins. The same journey by road would have taken 2hrs 32mins.
Helimed53 were tasked to a road traffic collision in Ash Green at 18:16 and were on scene at 18:25. Working alongside ambulance service colleagues, the crew assessed and treated a patient injured in the incident before escorting them to hospital by land ambulance for further treat
Helimed54 were tasked to a medical emergency in Derby at 11:07 and were on scene at 11:23. Working alongside EMAS, the crew assessed and treated a patient before transferring them to hospital by land ambulance.
Working alongside clinical partner team KIDS, the G-NICU crew and NCAA Airdesk team completed a transfer to Great Ormond Street Hospital in 55mins. The same journey by road would have taken 2hrs 48mins.
Helimed54 were tasked to an RTC in Ellistown at 12:54 and were on scene at 13:09. Working alongside EMAS, the crew assessed and treated a cyclist involved in a collision before they were left in the care of the ambulance service for onward transfer to hospital.
