A quick response 
to save Penny’s life
Last summer, a holiday to Whitby turned into a medical emergency for Penny, a 19-month-old toddler who had already faced a life-changing battle before. Less than a year earlier, at just 8 months old, Penny had undergone a lifesaving liver transplant at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. But as her family gathered for a relaxing summer break, Penny’s health suddenly took a turn for the worse.

Helimed54 were tasked to a medical emergency in Mansfield Woodhouse at 12:06 and were on scene at 12:19. Working alongside EMAS, the crew treated a patient following a cardiac arrest, providing advanced critical care interventions before transferring them to hospital by land ambulance for ongoing specialist care.
Helimed53 were tasked to an RTC in Rugby at 17:15 and were on scene at 17:25. Working alongside ambulance service colleagues, the crew provided advanced critical care interventions to a patient injured in a collision involving a heavy goods vehicle before transferring them to hospital by land ambulance for ongoing treatment.
Medic54 were tasked to a medical emergency in Wymeswold at 01:59 and were on scene at 02:09. Working alongside EMAS, the crew treated a patient following a cardiac arrest, providing advanced critical care interventions before transferring them to hospital by land ambulance.
Medic54 were tasked to a medical emergency in West Bridgford at 06:21 and were on scene at 06:33. The crew responded to reports of a patient requiring urgent medical assistance before being stood down at scene when specialist critical care support was no longer required.
Medic53 were tasked to a medical emergency in Coventry at 08:13 and were on scene at 08:23. The crew responded to support ambulance service colleagues before being stood down at scene when additional critical care support was no longer required.
Medic53 were tasked to a medical emergency in Coventry at 08:47 and were on scene at 08:56. The crew responded to support ambulance service colleagues before being stood down at scene when specialist critical care support was no longer required.
Helimed53 were tasked to an RTC in Birmingham at 13:13 and were on scene at 13:26. Working alongside local ambulance service colleagues, the crew assessed and treated a patient involved in a road traffic collision before they were left in the care of specialist critical care teams for ongoing treatment.
