A quick response 
to save Penny’s life
Last summer, a holiday to Whitby turned into a medical emergency for Penny, a 19-month-old toddler who had already faced a life-changing battle before. Less than a year earlier, at just 8 months old, Penny had undergone a lifesaving liver transplant at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. But as her family gathered for a relaxing summer break, Penny’s health suddenly took a turn for the worse.

EXPLORE LATEST MISSIONS
Helimed54 were tasked to a medical emergency in North West Leicestershire at 07:10 and were on scene at 07:22. The crew responded to an incident at East Midlands Airport before being stood down at scene.
Helimed53 were tasked to a medical emergency in Brackley at 11:22 and were on scene at 11:39. The crew responded to reports of a cardiac arrest to support ambulance service colleagues before being stood down at scene.
Medic53 were tasked to an RTC in Coventry at 18:33 and were on scene at 18:40. The crew responded to reports of a cyclist involved in a collision before being stood down at scene after assessment by ambulance service colleagues.
Helimed54 were tasked to a medical emergency in Melton at 13:09 and were on scene at 13:16. Working alongside EMAS, the crew assessed a patient following reports of a seizure before discharging them at scene.
Helimed54 were tasked to an RTC in Swanwick at 13:58 and were on scene at 14:18. Working alongside EMAS, the crew assessed and treated a patient involved in a collision before they were left in the care of the ambulance service for onward transfer to hospital.
Helimed53 were tasked to an RTC in Hockley Heath at 16:57 and were on scene at 17:10. Working alongside WMAS, the crew treated a patient following a road traffic collision before transferring them to hospital by land ambulance.
Working alongside clinical partner team KIDS, the G-CPTZ crew and NCAA Airdesk team transferred a patient and their parent to London in just 53mins. The same journey by road would have taken 2hrs 29mins.
