Shardlow pub supports local lifesaving charity

The team at the Malt Shovel in Shardlow have generously donated £880.00 to the Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA).

The dedicated team at the Derbyshire pub chose to support the vital service throughout 2021 with a special series of Themed Hamper Raffles including the Inland Port Festival, Halloween, and Christmas Raffle.

There were also fantastic prizes donated by local businesses, which made the raffle the success it was.

Every day of the year, the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance is helping save more lives across Derbyshire and further afield. With its critical care paramedics, doctors and pilots attending an average of five rescue missions a day, support from the local businesses like the Malt Shovel is vital to the charity.

“I was delighted to be presented with the generous donation by Ksenia and Lena from the Malt Shovel. The lifesaving service relies entirely on donations from members of the public to remain operational as it receives no Government or National Lottery funding.”

“Support from people such as Ksenia and Lena is invaluable and goes a long way in helping to keep our frontline service out saving lives, and we would like to thank all the customers for the generosity and fantastic support they have given.” expressed Volunteer Community Representative for the charity, Richard Fletcher.
