Rugby Golf Club raising vital funds to support lifesaving charity

Rugby Golf Club are raising funds by holding a Fashion Show to support the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA) as the charity celebrates 20 years of lifesaving service.

Rugby Golf Club, founded in 1891 featuring an 18-hole course, is one of the oldest courses in the Midlands and sits on the Warwickshire, Northamptonshire and Leicestershire borders. The Ladies Captain at Rugby Golf Club chose the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance as the club’s charity of the year to support during 2023.

On Thursday 26 October 2023 Rugby Golf Club will be holding a ‘Fashion Show’, featuring clothing from Wanda Fashions. Tickets for the event are £10.00 each and include a glass of Prosecco or Bucks Fizz on arrival. A charity raffle will also take place in the evening with all proceeds going to keep the vital service saving lives.

Within minutes, WNAA’s critical care crews can be on the ground delivering pre-hospital emergency care and giving patients the very best chance of survival – this vital service relies entirely on donations to raise the £1,700 needed for each rescue mission, as the charity receives no government or National Lottery funding.

“We chose the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance as our charity of the year for 2023 as it is a golden opportunity to raise awareness and funds for this worthwhile cause. All proceeds from the entry fees to the Fashion Show and all raffle ticket sales will be donated to support the charity’s lifesaving missions,” said Deb Harrad, Lady Captain of Rugby Golf Club.

Support from local sports clubs and communities – like Rugby Golf Club – is paramount as the charity relies entirely on public donations to raise the funds needed for each mission.

Commenting on behalf of the charity, George May, Senior Community Fundraising Executive said, “We’d like to thank the Rugby Golf Club for choosing to support us this year. Without support like this we wouldn’t be able to continue our lifesaving missions across Warwickshire and further afield, building on the fantastic 50,000 mission milestone we reached earlier this year.”

Tickets can be purchased for the event directly from the bar at Rugby Golf Club, or by contacting Deb on 07788256378.

Please arrive at Rugby Golf Club for 7.00pm, to start at 7.30pm on Thursday 26 October 2023.

The charity is celebrating 50,000 missions and its 20th anniversary of providing its lifesaving service across Warwickshire and Northamptonshire in 2023 and is encouraging people to visit a charity store and grab a bargain, donate unwanted clothing to one of many clothing banks, get involved in a challenge event, fundraise, or even sign up to volunteer.
