Robinsons of Lutterworth raise vital funds for lifesaving charity

Robinsons of Lutterworth have created a new 2023 campaign called ‘The Golden Gift’ to raise vital funds to support the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA) as they celebrate 15 years of lifesaving service.

Robinsons of Lutterworth are an independent local family jewellers, and this year, they’re celebrating their Golden Anniversary of fifty years in business. As a thank you to the local community that has supported them throughout this time, they wanted to give something back and in turn chose to support five local worthy charities – the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance being one of them.

Their campaign, The Golden Gift, began on 01 March 2023 offering 20% off any purchases of diamond jewellery. Customers would then be offered the opportunity to donate a portion of their saving to their chosen charity fund, so far raising £2,290.92 to support the lifesaving missions of the frontline service.

Within minutes, DLRAA’s critical care crews can be on the ground delivering pre-hospital emergency care and giving patients the very best chance of survival – this vital service relies entirely on donations to raise the £1,700 needed for each rescue mission, as the charity receives no government or National Lottery funding.

“Throughout our 50th year we want to raise £50,000 to support five local deserving charities. We would like to thank each and every member of our local community for their support over the last fifty years and being able to help support vital charities like the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance is an amazing feeling,” said Joe Robinson on behalf of Robinsons of Lutterworth Ltd.

“The pre-hospital critical care the crews provide is vital to help save the lives of more people across Leicestershire and further afield. They rely solely on generous donations to support their lifesaving missions and without ours and the community’s help they wouldn’t be able to continue,” he added.

Commenting on behalf of the charity, Julie Gray, Community Fundraising Executive for Leicestershire and Rutland said, “we would like to say a big thank you to Joe and Robinsons of Lutterworth for choosing us as one of their charities to support this year. They have raised a vital amount, and without their support our crews wouldn’t be able to continue their lifesaving missions, providing pre-hospital critical care to those who need it most.”

“We rely on generous fundraising and funding to remain operational, and without the support of local businesses and the local community just like this the lifesaving missions in Leicestershire and further afield wouldn’t be possible,” she expressed.

The charity is celebrating 50,000 missions and its 15th anniversary of providing its lifesaving service across Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland in 2023 and is encouraging people to visit a charity store and grab a bargain, donate unwanted clothing to one of many clothing banks, get involved in a challenge event, fundraise, or even sign up to volunteer.
