Local air ambulance store cleared for landing

Your local air ambulance has unveiled plans to transform a former Stratford Topps Tiles store into a homeware store which will raise vital funds for the lifesaving service.

The charity, which provides leading pre-hospital emergency care across Stratford-upon-Avon already has a boutique store on Greenhill Street and its new home store will “land” in November, after securing the lease.

The Maybrook Industrial Estate store is undergoing a substantial transformation over the next few weeks in turning it into a store which will sell both new and pre-loved homeware, furniture, electricals, living and brand-new white goods.

Hannah Coventry, Head of Retail for the charity, said: “The continued support of our boutique store and the success of this new store is vital as the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA) receives no government funding and relies solely on donations from the public and retail income to keep saving lives.

“Shopping in a charity shop is experience shopping,” explained Hannah. “Customers love the thrill of not knowing what they will find, and we want to make that experience last longer by offering a wider choice with our new home store within a fantastic, safe and friendly environment.”

Work is currently underway to get the store ready for the 24 November opening where local jobs have been created – including an assistant manager vacancy – as well as volunteering opportunities for anyone wishing to help the vital charity.

This new store opening adds to the charity’s portfolio of stores and comes before the momentous milestone of the charity celebrating its 20th anniversary of lifesaving service across Warwickshire and Northamptonshire in 2023.
