Lifesaving service wins at Charity Retail Awards

The Air Ambulance Service (TAAS) has won a ‘Wow! Factor Award’ as part of the national Charity Retail Awards 2023 event.

The Charity Retail Association promotes charitable causes and an environmentally sustainable retail experience and are the primary membership association for charity shops in the UK. The awards event has a range of categories to highlight the many successes of the charity retail sector, and TAAS are pleased to not only scoop a prize, but to also be shortlisted in the top three out of many other stores.

The Air Ambulance Service operates the local Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA), Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA), as well as the national Children’s Air Ambulance (TCAA).

The charity is pleased to announce that its Children’s Air Ambulance Solihull store won the prestigious Wow! Factor Award’ for the ‘Best Shop Window’, and it’s Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance superstore in Alfreton, was shortlisted in the top three for ‘Shop of the Year.’

Hannah Coventry, Head of Retail for the charity said: “It is fantastic that the creativity of our teams has been recognised at the Charity Retail Awards out of all the other wonderful charity window entries.

“The windows are the showcase of who we are on the high street and the teams work hard to create engaging and inspiring displays to attract customers to our store. The award highlights all the hard work that goes into the window displays and the talented teams who spend time sourcing products and creating the displays- we are very proud to have won this award!”

The award comes at an exciting year for TAAS as the charity celebrates its 20th anniversary of lifesaving service across Warwickshire and Northamptonshire, 15th anniversary of service across Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland, and its 10th anniversary for the Children’s Air Ambulance.
