Generous Donation in Remembrance for Rugby Motorcyclist
Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA) have received a donation of over £2,500 in memory of Ian Andrew Cockerill, from Rugby, who died in a motorcycle accident in January.nnFollowing their tragic loss, Ian’s wife Kim, along with her and Ian’s two daughters Emma and Abbie, asked for donations in memory of Ian to the WNAA, rather than flowers at his funeral.nnKim Cockerill said, “We have always been avid supporters of this very worthy cause. Although the aircraft wasn’t used at Ian’s accident, the Critical Care Car with Paramedics and Doctors attended the scene.“The family are so grateful for their efforts, and cannot express enough how vital it is that the Air Ambulance is kept flying, saving lives. Thank you so much to everyone who donated, enabling us to raise this fantastic amount.”nnLegacies and In Memory Manager at WNAA, Chloe Bass also commented, “The amount donated is incredible, and clearly an indicator of how highly Ian was regarded by friends and family. We are very grateful that Ian’s family chose to support our charity at this time.“Donations that we receive ‘in memory’ make a huge difference to the service that we are able to provide, and we are very thankful.”nnThe Air Ambulance Service (TAAS) is now also working with the National Forest to create a new Air Ambulance Memorial Woodland, offering the opportunity to plant a tree in memory of your loved one and watch it grow to become part of beautiful new woodland and create a lasting legacy.nn nn
