Cubbington contractors donate an incredible £10,000 to support lifesaving charity

The generous team at O’Brien Contractors have donated an incredible £10,000 to support the lifesaving missions of the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA).

O’Brien Contractors are a civil engineering company based in Cubbington near Leamington Spa and have supported the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance for a number of years, raising funds at various events such as golf days, balls, as well as other activities to ensure the vital service can continue supporting the local community.

The company’s recent donation of £10,000, will help fund more than five lifesaving missions by the frontline service which operates 24/7, 365 days per year.

The Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance crews deliver critical care at road traffic collisions, sports events, medical emergencies – such as cardiac arrest and accidents at home – and other incidents needing expert pre-hospital medical interventions.

James Bilson, Estimating Manager at O’Brien Contractors said: “It gives us great pleasure to support the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance. Our donation is a token of our appreciation for the commitment and dedication of their team and the work they do in difficult circumstances.

“Working in a ‘high-risk’ industry and on relatively remote sites, we take comfort from knowing such assistance is available if we ever needed them.”

Support from local community companies – like O’Brien Contractors – is paramount as the charity receives no government funding and relies entirely on public donations to raise the £1,700 needed for each mission.

“The support of our local communities and businesses is so important to us as we rely on generous support like this to remain operational. I’d like to say a huge thank you to the wonderful team at O’Brien Contractors for their generous donations and continued support – which goes towards saving lives,” added George May, WNAA Community Fundraising Executive.

The charity is celebrating its 20th anniversary of providing its lifesaving service across Warwickshire and Northamptonshire in 2023. To help the charity mark this momentous milestone and support it so that its lifesaving missions can continue, why not visit a charity store and grab a bargain, donate preloved items, host a clothing bank, get involved in a challenge event, fundraise, make a one-off donation, or even sign up as a volunteer.
