Coventry Garden Centre raises vital funds to support lifesaving charity

Hilltop Garden Centre in Coventry have amazingly raised more than £3,000 to support the lifesaving missions of the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA).

The independent, family-run garden centre pride themselves on customer service and satisfaction. They have two showrooms packed with high-quality garden furniture and garden accessories, an enormous selection of plants, a play area including outdoor seating, as well as boasting one of the UK’s biggest water feature displays.

Between October 2023 and 31 December 2023, Hilltop Garden Centre set up a musical Christmas animatronic Santa band that members of the public could watch, listen to and leave a donation to support the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance.

Upon the final count, the total raised came to an amazing £3,071.69 – supporting the lifesaving charity’s missions in Warwickshire and further afield.

“Everyone at Hilltop Garden Centre is filled with immense gratitude and we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the Santa band to raise funds for the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance,” said Chelsie Whitmore, Hilltop Garden Centre.

“The incredible generosity from the public, combined with the joyful tunes from the animatronic Santa band led to an amazing achievement. Together we raised a fantastic total of £3,071.69 which will make a meaningful difference to the lives of those who need it the most,” she added.

Within minutes, WNAA’s critical care crews can be on the ground delivering pre-hospital critical care and giving patients the very best chance of survival – this vital service relies entirely on donations to raise the £2,300 needed for each rescue mission, as the charity receives no government or National Lottery funding.

Sally Newman, Community Fundraising Executive for Warwickshire said:

“On behalf of the charity I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Hilltop Garden Centre and to everyone who gave so generously to support our lifesaving service.”

“We receive no government or National Lottery funding and without the support of local communities and businesses just like this we wouldn’t be able to continue to provide pre-hospital critical care 24/7, 365 days a year,” she expressed.
