Bakewell charity store’s exciting new opportunity

Your local air ambulance’s Bakewell charity store in Derbyshire is searching for a new Retail Manager, as this year the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA) celebrates 15 years of lifesaving service.

A new and exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Retail Manager at DLRAA’s beautiful charity store in the quaint market town of Bakewell, where the charity is looking for someone with a flair for retail and a commercial eye.

With the support of the Area Manager and fellow colleagues the ideal person would need to help maximise sales and profits, be creative, innovative and show compassion by guiding and managing both employees and volunteers to achieve specific goals.

The candidate would also proactively support and encourage both personal and professional development of the store’s team, ensuring delivery of a profitable and customer-focused store – but most importantly the charity is looking for someone with a passion for the charity and the lifesaving work it undertakes.

“It’s such an exciting opportunity to join our air ambulance family – working for a vital service which we often see flying over Bakewell and across Derbyshire,” says Fletcher Smith, the charity’s Retail Area Manager for the North.

“The local community here is wonderful, and we look forward to finding a new store manager who can keep driving us forward,” he adds.

The Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance crew attend an average of five missions per day and can be on the ground within minutes delivering pre-hospital critical care at road traffic collisions, sports events, industrial accidents, or medical emergencies such as a cardiac arrest or stroke in the home.

The charity receives no government or National Lottery funding and relies entirely on donations to raise the £1,700 needed for each rescue mission. The charity’s retail stores play an integral role in keeping the vital service operational, so the new role within the Bakewell charity store is key.
