We’re Charity Partner for Asda Foundation Hull Half Marathon

The Children’s Air Ambulance (TCAA) has been unveiled as a charity partner of the Asda Foundation Hull Half Marathon and Hull 10K run, and is now offering runners the opportunity to take up one of its sought after event places.nnThe Hull Half Marathon and 10K run, organised by Run for All, both take place on Sunday 2 June and TCAA wants people to be a part of its “crew” on the day.nnThe charity is offering numerous guaranteed places at a cost of £20 each for either event which are open to runners of all abilities and ages.nnTCAA is a unique national charity flying critically ill babies and children from hospitals such as Hull Royal Infirmary to another for specialist care. It is the only dedicated neo-natal and paediatric helicopter emergency transfer and is based in the north (Doncaster) and south (Oxford) of the country.nnThe free of charge service works closely with NHS transport teams, such as Embrace in Yorkshire, to help fly neo-natal and paediatric patients to specialist treatment thanks to the bespoke equipment on board which turns the helicopters into flying intensive care units.nnWhen a child is too sick to fly, TCAA can also fly a specialist team to the patient.  With flight times commonly around four times quicker than a transfer by road, the time saved means a life saved.nnTCAA is also seeking to recruit 20 volunteers to help support and marshal this event while asking runners already registered to choose Children’s Air Ambulance as their charity of choice.nnHelp us keep hope alive for our patients by joining our teams today, to register for the 10K run visit https://the-air-ambulance-service.charitycheckout.co.uk/cf/Hull-10k and for the Half Marathon please visit https://www.runforall.com/events/half-marathon/hull-half-marathon/.
