A quick response 
to save Penny’s life
Last summer, a holiday to Whitby turned into a medical emergency for Penny, a 19-month-old toddler who had already faced a life-changing battle before. Less than a year earlier, at just 8 months old, Penny had undergone a lifesaving liver transplant at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. But as her family gathered for a relaxing summer break, Penny’s health suddenly took a turn for the worse.

Helimed53 were tasked to a medical emergency in Roade at 18:28 and were on scene at 18:46. Working alongside EMAS, the crew treated a patient following a cardiac arrest before transferring them to hospital by land ambulance after a successful resuscitation.
Medic54 were tasked to an RTC in Nottingham at 20:37 and were on scene at 20:52. Working alongside EMAS, the crew treated a patient with serious injuries following a collision with a vehicle before transferring them to hospital by land ambulance.
Helimed53 were tasked to a fall incident in Edale at 12:44 and were on scene at 13:00. Working alongside Mountain Rescue Teams and EMAS, the crew assisted with the treatment and movement of a patient with an ankle injury before they were left in the care of the ambulance service for onward treatment.
Medic53 were tasked to a medical emergency in Coventry at 21:46 and were on scene at 21:50. Working alongside WMAS, the crew treated a patient suffering a respiratory arrest before transferring them to hospital by land ambulance.
The G-NICU crew, supported by the NCAA Airdesk team, worked alongside clinical partner team SoNAR in the South to complete an incubator transfer to Margate in 2hrs 26mins, including a refuel stop en route. The same journey by road would have taken 5hrs 59mins.
Helimed54 were tasked to a fall incident in Swadlincote at 13:58 and were on scene at 14:22. The crew responded to reports of a patient injured following a fall from a ladder before being stood down at scene.
Helimed54 were tasked to a medical emergency in Leicester at 06:46 and were on scene at 07:01. Working alongside EMAS, the crew treated a patient before transferring them to Leicester Royal Infirmary by land ambulance.
Helimed53 were tasked to a fall incident in Irthlingborough at 13:13 and were on scene at 13:36. Working alongside EMAS, the crew treated a patient following a fall from a ladder before transferring them to hospital by air ambulance.
Helimed54 were tasked to an RTC in Derby at 19:21 and were on scene at 19:35. Working alongside EMAS, the crew treated a patient with serious injuries following a collision before providing advanced critical care interventions and transferring them to hospital by land ambulance.
Helimed53 were tasked to a fall incident in Solihull at 19:34 and were on scene at 19:39. Working alongside WMAS, the crew treated a patient following a fall from height before transferring them to hospital by land ambulance.
Working alongside clinical partner team NWTS in the North, the G-CPTZ crew and NCAA Airdesk team transferred a patient and their parent to Newcastle in just 54mins. The same journey by road would have taken 3hrs 4mins.
Medic54 were tasked to assist at Grantham UTC at 00:24 and were on scene at 00:45. The crew attended in support of EMAS but were not required for further clinical intervention.
