Just in time for Christmas, Your Local Air Ambulance charity is opening a new pop-up shop in the centre of Loughborough.
The former Primark location in Market Place is 13,000sqft and will be clothing and furniture store for a minimum of three months – but potentially longer. The ribbon will be cut at 10am on Thursday December 4th by Mayor of Charnwood, Councillor David Northage, and Professor Bob Allison, who is chair of the charity’s board of trustees and former Vice-Chancellor of Loughborough University.
Lee Corkill, retail area manager for the charity, said: “It’s a prime-location and a great opportunity for people to use their festive shopping trips to support their local air ambulance – which receives no NHS funding and relies entirely on donations from the public. You will find some hidden gems at superb prices and can be safe in the knowledge that your purchase is also a gift to someone who will need the help of our crews this Christmas.
“This is the first pop-up shop for the charity, and we are very excited to be coming to the heart of Loughborough. We also have volunteering opportunities for anyone who wants to make a difference in their community this Christmas – or just spend some time with a team of friendly colleagues.
Every day of the year, Your Local Air Ambulance’s critical care paramedics and trauma doctors deliver lifesaving care within minutes to those in greatest need and provide the very best chance of survival and recovery. The charity receives no government funding and relies entirely on donations to raise the funds needed for each rescue mission.
