Northamptonshire housebuilder raises £100,000 for local air ambulance charity

David Wilson Homes South Midlands has raised over £100,000 to support Your Local Air Ambulance (YLAA) and their lifesaving missions.

Your Local Air Ambulance brings rapid emergency care to communities across Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland.

The charity’s helicopters fly at 185mph, carrying the latest lifesaving equipment and crewed by expert critical care paramedics, doctors and pilots; all trained to respond to the most serious emergencies.

Over the course of the year, David Wilson Homes South Midlands supported the charity through a range of successful fundraising initiatives. These included a day of golf, clay pigeon shooting, an evening awards dinner, and its annual pub quiz that received Barratt Redrow’s fund matching.

Andrew Partridge, Community Fundraising Executive for Northamptonshire for the charity, said:

“We are extremely grateful to David Wilson Homes South Midlands for raising vital funds to keep our helicopters flying 24/7, 365 days a year.”

“We receive no government or National Lottery funding and rely entirely on the generous donations from the local community and businesses. The funds they have raised will help our crew to continue their lifesaving missions in Northamptonshire and further afield,” he added.

The funds will help the charity to continue providing lifesaving emergency care, enabling its teams to respond rapidly to serious incidents and deliver advanced medical treatment both at the scene and during transfers to hospital.

Ben Kalus, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes South Midlands, said: “As our Charity of the Year, the Air Ambulance Service has inspired colleagues across the business to get involved in a wide range of fundraising activities.

“Raising more than £100,000 is an achievement that reflects the incredible support shown throughout our partnership and knowing that these funds will contribute towards lifesaving care makes this milestone especially meaningful.”
