Local NatWest Bank staff volunteer to support lifesaving children’s charity
Local NatWest Bank staff members have volunteered at the Children’s Air Ambulance’s (TCAA) Kings Heath store to support its lifesaving missions for critically ill babies and children across the UK.
The charity’s Kings Heath store opened its doors in August 2013 and is situated in the town centre, stocking a quality range of new and pre-loved items. The store relies on the generosity of donated goods as well as dedicated hours from its regular volunteers, and companies’ teams donating their time, like the team at NatWest Bank.
NatWest Bank offers employees the chance to volunteer to help a charity of their choice, and a team from the bank chose to volunteer at the Kings Heath store to support the Children’s Air Ambulance for the second year in a row to ensure the charity can continue its lifesaving missions.
The NatWest staff were involved in a variety of tasks while volunteering at the store including, sorting and hanging stock, operating the till, merchandising, as well as being shown how they rotate the goods on a two-week system, and how to sign up new customers to give Gift Aid and how they receive donations.
“Volunteering at the Children’s Air Ambulance store was a fun and rewarding experience. It was great for us to get an insight into how things work behind the scenes and see the immense effort that goes into providing such an incredible service which emphasises just how crucial volunteering is,” said Team Aneeta, NatWest.
“The staff working there are lovely and very passionate about the charity and their vital missions. It is truly inspiring and a reminder that we often take the little things in life for granted. It was a heartwarming experience that has left a lasting impression on us all and we would like to say a big thank you to the staff in the shop and everyone who helped to organise the day,” they added.
The team were greatly appreciated by the charity, and more of NatWest Bank’s volunteers are lined up to assist at The Air Ambulance Service’s (TAAS) Alfreton Superstore, Alfreton Boutique, Belper and Bakewell stores.
Store Manager at the TCAA Kings Heath store, Michele Smith said:
“We would like to say thank you to the team from NatWest who generously used their volunteer days to support our charity, it was a pleasure to have them with us. We wouldn’t be able to continue our vital missions to save the lives of critically ill babies and children without the support of our dedicated volunteers.”
