Hemel Hempstead charity store celebrates funding more than 200 lifesaving missions

The Children’s Air Ambulance (TCAA) charity boutique store in Hemel Hempstead is celebrating funding more than 200 lifesaving missions for critically ill babies and children across the UK.

The charity store opened its doors on 11 March 2016 and is conveniently located up the road from The Marlowes Shopping Centre in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. Over the past eight years the charity boutique has generated £773,434.48 incredibly funding more than 200 lifesaving missions – enabling the charity to continue saving young lives across the UK.

The Children’s Air Ambulance is a charity changing the face of paediatric and neonatal care through the high-speed transfer of critically ill babies and children – flying them from one hospital to another for specialist care via the clinically designed helicopters, which provide a flying intensive care unit for babies and children.

The store has also received 22,966 bags of donated goods but continues to require support from the local community with further donations of new and preloved items, as these provide vital income for the charity.

Store Manager Sarah Piper said: “We would like to say a big thank you to everyone in the local community who has supported us over the last eight years. Without this support we wouldn’t have been able to raise vital funds to support the charity’s lifesaving missions.”

“Together we are keeping the lifesaving missions for critically ill babies and children possible and the helicopters flying,” she added.
