Flying Hearts Appeal to Help Children like Buzz
We need your help to keep flying critically ill babies and children to get the treatment they need quickly and safely.
Give what you can to help save young lives
The Children’s Air Ambulance helped to save Buzz’s life in March 2019. He suffered a severe episode of croup, which, due to his rare genetic disorder called Leopard Syndrome, he is very vulnerable to contracting.
In this particular episode, Buzz’s condition was so bad he was fighting for breath and he was taken to the local Conquest Hospital in Hastings. Despite initially responding to treatment, it became apparent he needed to be transferred to Evelina London Children’s Hospital where he could get the specialist care he urgently needed.
The Children’s Air Ambulance and STRS team prepared him for the journey to the capital before transferring him onto the helicopter’s specially designed stretcher and flying him to the hospital in just 27 minutes.
