Cash4Coins proudly raises over £100,000 to support Children’s Air Ambulance
Cash4Coins has been a commercial partner of the Children’s Air Ambulance (TCAA) since 2017 – raising a staggering amount to support the lifesaving children’s charity.
The brilliant Cash4Coins scheme places Perspex tubes in a variety of businesses such as, banks, building societies, bureau de change and post offices to encourage members of the public to drop their redundant sterling, foreign coins, and bank notes into the collection tubes to support the charity and help to save more lives.
Since the partnership began, Cash4Coins has raised over £100,000, equating to 28 lifesaving transfer missions for the charity.
The Children’s Air Ambulance is a national service, changing the face of paediatric and neonatal care through the high-speed transfer of critically ill babies and children – flying them from one hospital to another for specialist care via the clinically designed helicopters which provide a flying intensive care unit for babies and children.
“We’re proud to have raised over £100,000.00 for the Children’s Air Ambulance through the donation of foreign coins and banknotes,” said Ian Stainton, Director of Cash4Coins.
“The support we receive from the public is amazing, with them donating everything from old UK currency, pre-euro coins and notes, as well as almost every world coin and note you can imagine! With an estimated £800 million in leftover holiday money in the UK, it’s a great source of ongoing fundraising,” he added.
By donating foreign currency that’s unused after a recent holiday, or old pennies left lying around at home, this scheme can help the Children’s Air Ambulance continue flying and making pioneering developments to enhance its vital services.
“We are thrilled to have reached such a marvellous milestone with Cash4Coins. It is a great way for companies to support us and we hope to inspire more businesses to choose to host one of the tubes, so that their customers can donate their foreign currency and redundant old coins to support the Children’s Air Ambulance,” expressed TCAA National Partnerships Manager, Jo Payne.
Support from corporate partnerships and businesses like Cash4Coins is paramount as the charity receives no government funding and relies entirely on public donations to remain operational.
“On behalf of the charity, I’d like to say a big thank you to Cash4Coins for partnering with us and for this amazing donation. Each potentially lifesaving mission costs £3,500 and with the help of this donation this means we can continue to provide our vital service for critically ill babies and children across the UK,” Jo added.
