Stamford charity store celebrates funding almost 200 lifesaving missions

The Children’s Air Ambulance (TCAA) charity boutique store in Stamford is celebrating funding almost 200 lifesaving missions for critically ill babies and children across the UK.

The charity boutique opened its doors on 13 March 2018 and is based in the town centre of Stamford, Lincolnshire. Over the past six years the charity store has generated £718,956.13 incredibly funding almost 200 lifesaving missions – enabling the charity to continue saving young lives across the UK.

The Children’s Air Ambulance is a charity changing the face of paediatric and neonatal care through the high-speed transfer of critically ill babies and children – flying them from one hospital to another for specialist care via the clinically designed helicopters, which provide a flying intensive care unit for babies and children.

The store has also received 14,825 bags of donated goods but continues to require support from the local community with further donations of new and preloved items, as these provide vital income for the charity.

Store Manager Joanna Burbage said: “We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported us over the last six years, whether you donated clothing or bric-a-brac, shopped with us, or gave a monetary donation – thank you. Without this support we wouldn’t have been able to continue to raise vital funds to support the charity’s lifesaving missions.”

“We rely on generous donations from the local community and businesses to keep our helicopters flying and to keep saving the lives of critically ill babies and children across the UK,” she added.
