Local charity store celebrates funding more than 1,000 lifesaving missions

Your local air ambulance charity homeware store based in Daventry, Northamptonshire, is celebrating funding more than 1,000 missions for the Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA), as the charity celebrates 20 years of vital service.

The Daventry homeware store is one of two WNAA shops in Daventry, the other being the charity’s Boutique store. The homeware store opened on 25 May 2012, selling new and pre-loved homeware, furniture, electricals, and brand-new white goods.

In eleven years, the homeware store has generated an incredible £2,160,971.45 worth of sales for the charity, enabling the charity to continue saving lives 24/7, 365 days a year across Northamptonshire and further afield.

The store has also received 87,434 bags of generously donated goods, which have provided vital income for the charity, but they continue to require the support of the local community for further donations of new and preloved items.

Funding from the charity’s homeware store provides an invaluable source of income for this vital service, relying entirely on donations to raise the £1,700 needed for each rescue mission – as the charity receives no government or National Lottery funding. It keeps the Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance crews on the frontline, delivering pre-hospital critical care to those who need it most.

Store Manager, Tom Sparks said: “Everyone at the Daventry home store would like to thank the local community for their continued support since 2012. We have amazingly managed to raise enough to fund more than 1,000 lifesaving missions across Northamptonshire.”

“We need the continued support of the community to ensure that the lifesaving missions can continue – ensuring our crews are available 24/7, 365 days per year to give lifesaving pre-hospital care where it is needed most,” he added.

The charity is celebrating 20 years of providing lifesaving service across Warwickshire and Northamptonshire, developing over the years into the leading provider of pre-hospital critical care it is today. To help the charity mark this momentous milestone and support it so its missions can continue, why not visit a charity store and grab a bargain, donate unwanted clothing to one of many clothing banks, get involved in a challenge event, fundraise, or even sign up to volunteer.
