A quick response 
to save Penny’s life
Last summer, a holiday to Whitby turned into a medical emergency for Penny, a 19-month-old toddler who had already faced a life-changing battle before. Less than a year earlier, at just 8 months old, Penny had undergone a lifesaving liver transplant at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. But as her family gathered for a relaxing summer break, Penny’s health suddenly took a turn for the worse.

Helimed54 were called to a fall at 13.32pm and on scene at 14.05pm. Patient was assessed, treated and left with other service for further care.
Medic53 were called to an RTC at 15.21pm and on scene at 15.29pm. Patient required advanced analgesia before being transferred to hospital by land.
Medic54 were called to an RTC at 22.12pm and on scene at 22.25pm. Patient assessed for minor injuries and handed over to EMAS for further care.
Helimed54 were called to an RTC at 08.22am and on scene at 08.33am. Patient had sustained multiple injuries. Patient received critical care support and transported to hospital by land.
Helimed53 were called to a fall at 15.11pm and on scene at 15.31pm. Assisted with assessment and treatment of a patient who had fallen from height. Left with other service to be transported to hospital for further assessment
Medic54 were called to a medical incident at 22.05pm and on scene at 22.22pm. Patient in cardiac arrest was assessed and conveyed to hospital by land.
G-PICU worked alongside Embrace to transfer a patient to the North in just 1 hour and 23mins. This journey by land ambulance would have taken around 3 hours and 50 minutes.
Helimed53 were called to a medical incident at 08.53am and on scene at 09.05am. Patient assessed and treated following a cardiac arrest. Conveyed to hospital by land with TAAS for further treatment.
Medic54 were called to an RTC at 17.55pm and on scene at 18.29pm. Attended a motorcyclist who was assessed before being transferred to hospital by land.
G-PICU worked alongside Embrace to transfer a patient to the North in just 27mins. This journey by land ambulance would have taken over 1 hour and 30 minutes.
G-PICU worked alongside WATch to transfer a patient to the South West in just 42mins. This journey by land ambulance would have taken around 1 hour and 50 minutes.
Helimed54 were called to a fall at 12.39pm and on scene at 12.48pm. Patient was assessed and left with EMAS for further care.
