A quick response 
to save Penny’s life
Last summer, a holiday to Whitby turned into a medical emergency for Penny, a 19-month-old toddler who had already faced a life-changing battle before. Less than a year earlier, at just 8 months old, Penny had undergone a lifesaving liver transplant at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. But as her family gathered for a relaxing summer break, Penny’s health suddenly took a turn for the worse.

Medic53 were called to a medical incident at 15.05pm and on scene at 15.28pm. Treated patient in cardiac arrest who was left with other service for further care.
Medic54 were called to a medical incident at 15.51pm and on scene at 16.04pm. Assessed patient in cardiac arrest who was awake on our arrival. Left with other service for continued care.
Medic53 were called to a fall at 00.59m and on scene at 1.37am. Patient assessed for head injury following fall and was conveyed by land ambulance with TAAS.
Helimed54 were called to an RTC at 10.43am and on scene at 11.12am. Patient with broken leg treated and flown to hospital for further treatment.
G-PICU worked alongside SONeT to transfer a patient to the South in just 17mins. This journey by land ambulance would have taken 2hrs.
Helimed53 were called to a fall at 10.48am and on scene at 11.00am. Patient fell while working sustaining trauma to back and chest. Treated for pain and left with other service for further care.
Helimed53 were called to a medical incident at 13.12pm and on scene at 13.17pm. First on scene to patient having seizure who was assessed and handed over to the ambulance service.
Medic54 were called to a medical incident at 20.10pm and on scene at 20.38pm. Patient in cardiac arrest received care on scene before being escorted with TAAS for continued treatment.
G-PICU worked alongside NEST to transfer a patient to the South West in just 42mins. This journey by land ambulance would have taken around 2hs 20mins.

Helimed53 were called to a fall at 11.48am and on scene at 11.55am. Assisted WMAS ambulance crew with the assessment of a patient who had suffered and head injury and seizure following a fall.
Helimed53 were called to a medical incident at 15.08pm and on scene at 15.20pm. Assisted with the resuscitation of a patient who suffered a seizure which progressed to cardiac arrest who was conveyed to hospital by land.
