A quick response 
to save Penny’s life
Last summer, a holiday to Whitby turned into a medical emergency for Penny, a 19-month-old toddler who had already faced a life-changing battle before. Less than a year earlier, at just 8 months old, Penny had undergone a lifesaving liver transplant at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. But as her family gathered for a relaxing summer break, Penny’s health suddenly took a turn for the worse.

Medic54 were called to a trauma at 1.23am and on scene at 1.42am. Assisted EMAS with patient who was then conveyed to hospital with TAAS by land ambulance.
Helimed54 were called to a fall at 10.45am and on scene at 11.02am. Assisted with patient who had fallen from height and sustained back injury. EMAS transferred to hospital for further care.
Helimed53 were called to a trauma at 12.39pm and on scene at 12.58pm. Assessed patient with limb injury who was being treated and conveyed to hospital with other service.
Medic54 were called to a medical incident at 19.17pm and on scene at 19.30pm. Patient in cardiac arrest was conveyed with TAAS to hospital for further care.
G-PICU worked alongside NEST to transfer a patient to the South in just 1hr 2mins. This journey by land ambulance would have taken 3hrs 14mins.
Helimed54 were called to a sporting incident at 13.01pm and on scene at 13.20pm. Attended horse riding incident where patient was given analgesia and flown to hospital for further care.
Medic54 were called to a medical incident at 4.23am and on scene at 4.44am. Patient was assessed and treated on scene for cardiac arrest before being conveyed with TAAS to hospital.
Medic53 were called to a fall at 14.06pm and on scene at 14.20pm. Patient had fallen from height and was assessed before being left with other service for further care.
Medic54 were called to an RTC at 17.02pm and on scene at 17.17pm. Patient was assessed and treated after falling off motorbike following collision. Handed over to EMAS crew to transfer to hospital for continued care.
Helimed54 were called to a fall at 15.20pm and on scene at 15.35pm. Patient was assessed at scene and left with other service to transfer to hospital for further care.
Medic54 were called to a medical incident at 22.52pm and on scene at 23.17pm. Patient was in cardiac arrest and conveyed to hospital with TAAS for further care.
Medic53 were called to an RTC at 21.03pm and on scene at 21.39pm. Assessed, treated and conveyed patient with serious injuries to hospital.
