Set against the backdrop of rolling countryside and rich with history, Ashbourne is the latest community to welcome a Your Local Air Ambulance (YLAA) charity shop, helping to raise vital funds for their lifesaving emergency medical service.
The new store will open on Friday 20 February at:
- Shawcroft Centre, Dig Street, Ashbourne, DE6 1GD
The opening comes at a time of renewed investment in the town, following the completion of the Ashbourne Reborn town centre transformation project.
As Ashbourne continues to benefit from improved public spaces and safer streets, the shop will offer residents and visitors a new way to support YLAA and its work across the county.
Last year, the charity responded to 548 incidents in Derbyshire, delivering advanced critical care to people in emergencies when every minute mattered. Your Local Air Ambulance receives no government funding and relies on generous donations and its chain of charity shops to keep helicopters in the sky and critical care cars on the road.
Simon Trzopek, Retail Area Manager, said: “We’re thrilled to be opening a brand-new charity shop in the heart of Ashbourne and joining the local community. Whether you’re donating items, hunting for a bargain, or stopping by for a chat about volunteering with us, every visit helps fund the vital work of our crews.”
Your Local Air Ambulance’s specialist clinicians provide advanced care directly at the scene of an incident. Operating across Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Rutland, Northamptonshire, and Warwickshire, the charity plays a crucial role in responding to some of the region’s most serious emergencies.
