The National Children’s Air Ambulance (NCAA) is opening a new charity shop in Stony Stratford on Friday 3 July 2026.
The NCAA flies critically ill children from one hospital to another for specialist care. It is the first and only dedicated paediatric helicopter emergency transfer service in the country, providing a flying intensive care unit for children.
The charity receives no government funding and relies entirely on voluntary donations and its network of shops to raise funds needed every month to run the service, with each mission costing an average of £5,700.
Speaking ahead of the opening, NCAA Retail Area Manager Kevin Chappell said:
“Every person we have met while we have been getting the shop ready can’t wait to tell us how much they love Stony – and it is clear why. It has an incredible heritage and to open a shop in a town that was first granted the right to hold a market in 1194 is an incredible privilege.
“For 14 years the National Children’s Air Ambulance has transferred sick children, infants and babies to the hospitals where they can get the specialist care they need. Our charity shops provide a vital link to the public who can contribute to each mission simply by donating their pre-loved items or shopping for their next bargain. There will be a warm welcome for every person through our doors in Stony Stratford from the day we open – and we look forward to meeting new friends.”
The new store will open from 10am, with a special appearance from the Mayor of Milton Keynes Councillor Paul Trendall, alongside NCAA crew members who carry out its lifesaving missions.
The address is 84 High Street, Stony Stratford, Milton Keynes, MK11 1AH.
