The Air Ambulance Service (TAAS) has been nominated for ‘The UK’s Favourite Charity Shop’ as part of the Charity Retail Association’s 25th anniversary celebrations.
The Charity Retail Association promotes charitable causes and an environmentally sustainable retail experience and are the primary membership association for charity shops in the UK.
The UK’s Favourite Charity Shop competition had almost 6,500 nominations when it launched earlier this summer as part of the Charity Retail Associations 25th anniversary celebrations and TAAS are proud to be nominated for their Melton Mowbray superstore.
The Air Ambulance Service operates the local Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA), Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA), as well as the national Children’s Air Ambulance (TCAA).
Members of the public will be voting for their favourite UK charity shop from a shortlist of six in Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and England – with the winners announced from each region in the coming weeks and an overall winning shop will be presented with The UK’s Favourite Charity Shop Award at a special event in November.
“We have had a fantastic reception to The UK’s Favourite Charity Shop Award so far and it has been brilliant to see so many people getting involved to share what makes their favourite charity shop so special,” said Robin Osterley, Chief Executive of the Charity Retail Association.
“I’d like to congratulate all the charity shops who have been nominated for the award and wish all the shortlisted shops good luck,” he expressed.

“Since the store opened only three years ago the team has hit many major milestones including raising a phenomenal £1 million worth of sales in just a year and together we have funded more than 1,000 lifesaving missions.
