Festive drive-in fireworks will help raise vital funds for The Air Ambulance Service

This weekend, Harborough-based Komodo Fireworks and Roaming Giraffe Events have teamed up to bring Leicestershire its first drive-in fireworks experience – in aid of a lifesaving charity.

The jaw-dropping fireworks display will take place on 12 December at The Showground in Market Harborough from 4pm, with an ‘at car’ food delivery service offering a variety of delicious goodies – with each ticket purchased helping to raise vital funds for The Air Ambulance Service.

The Air Ambulance Service operates the Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance, Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance, and Children’s Air Ambulance, and has continued to help save more lives with their dedicated frontline crews continuing their vital missions throughout this difficult Coronavirus pandemic – providing crucial support to the NHS.

Managing Director at Roaming Giraffe Events, Hen Bevan, chose to support The Air Ambulance Service as she is forever grateful to the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance for coming to her rescue in 2012.

“I met the team at Komodo Fireworks in a car park where we have our coffee van, and we discussed collaborating to support each other during the pandemic.

“Even though Market Harborough is in Tier 3, we wanted to show people that events can still happen in a COVID-19 safe manner, so our drive-in fireworks event was born,” said Hen.

“We are supporting both Your Local Air Ambulance Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland, and Children’s Air Ambulance as both services are very close to my heart and I wanted to help them in what has been a very difficult year for us all,” she added.

Thrilled about the partnership for the drive-in fireworks event, Community Fundraising Executive Vicky Evans said:

“In such a difficult time for all of us in the community, it will be wonderful to come together to celebrate and have some fun in a COVID-19 safe way, and watching what will be a very exciting performance whilst raising vital funds for our 24/7 frontline charity.”

“As a charity, we rely entirely on the generous support from our communities, and we are so very thankful to be the chosen charity of this spectacular event – we look forward to seeing everyone there!”
