Redrow Homes South Midlands Head Office has raised more than £20,000 to support Your Local Air Ambulance (YLAA) and their lifesaving missions in Northamptonshire and further afield.
Redrow Homes South Midlands Head Office held a charity golf day at Northampton Golf Club in Harlestone. The club boasts a magnificent 18-hole championship course with an equally stunning clubhouse.
Your Local Air Ambulance were one of two lucky charities who benefited from the housing developers charity day, raising an amazing total of £47,814 – earning each charity £23,907.
The money was raised through donations and an auction that included a Messi shirt signed by the current Argentina team.
Your Local Air Ambulance brings rapid emergency care to communities across Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland.
The helicopters fly at 185mph, carrying the latest lifesaving equipment and are crewed by expert critical care paramedics, doctors and pilots; all trained to respond to the most serious emergencies.
The charity receives no government or National Lottery funding for their daily missions – each mission costs £2,500. They rely entirely on generous donations from the local community and businesses to keep them operational.
Chris Bailey, Associate Director of Operations for the charity said:
“It was an absolute privilege to tee off at the recent Redrow Charity Golf Day. Even with the scorching weather, the company and my average golf made it an unforgettable day. The ultimate highlight was being presented with a phenomenal cheque for over £23,000 to support our life-saving services!
“A massive thank you to everyone involved and for the overwhelming generosity shown on the day,” he added.
