In Memory of

Roger

Born 29 July 1942 and Died 9th November 2024. Beloved and Devoted Husband to Sheila and loving dad to his children John, Louise and Mike, Step Daughters Julie and Jane, and much loved Grandpa to Sam, Katie, Joe, Tom, Dan, Zach, Megan, Emily and Ellie.

Roger's story

Born and raised in Leicester to my Grand parents Edward and Gertrude Frisby; he lived his early years in a small terrace house and community shop on Dartford road. Following schooling which started at Grandby Primary, Dad followed a long Career with the East Midlands Electricity Board (EMEB), finally retiring and moving to Whetstone with Sheila. During this time, Dad moved around and lived in a number of places, including Blackburn Drive and Ridley Close in Blaby. A keen sportsman in his time, playing Rugby at county level in his younger years, he soon developed a passion for .22 target shooting and was a founder member of the EMEB .22 shooting range at the old Aylestone road sports ground. Always one for the outdoors and sun, Dad spent much of his retirement travelling with Sheila, and had a passion for cruising, be it on the open sea or along the river way's of Europe. He said he was a keen gardener, but really it was being out in the sun.

What is a gift in your will?

Legacies, also known as gifts in Wills, have a profound impact on our charity, funding 1 in 7 of our lifesaving missions. Legacies are another way in which you can honour a loved one’s memory and that gift allows their memory to live on long into the future, allowing us to save lives of future generations in their name. If you have included such a special gift in your Will, you can now show that on your loved one’s page with a pledge, or you can request to learn more about legacies with our free Gifts in Wills Guide.
