In Memory of Laurence Henry Padgham

Laurie was born in Hastings and always held great affection for aircraft after witnessing the wartime planes that went back and forth overhead during the war as a child. At first opportunity he joined the RAF becoming a mechanical engineer and had a long history with plane maintenance and repairs before becoming employed by Rolls Royce in Derby. He had huge respect for the Air Ambulance and what they do in saving lives. He recognised that their funding depended on donations rather than from state funding so would often donate himself when opportunity allowed. Laurie decided that rather than have flowers at his funeral other than those of close family that he would want friendship and colleagues to make a donation to such a worthy cause in his memory.
