Grahame Elson

Grahame's story

Grahame was a much loved son , brother and fiancé. Grahame suffered a cardiac arrest due to a pulmonary embolism. Despite the valiant efforts of the DRLAA crew on the day, March 21st 2019 it was to no avail and Grahame sadly passed away leaving a huge void in all of our lives. Grahame was an avid traveler who along with his fiancé Shaun had visited 65 countries and another 8 booked for the following year. Grahame & Shaun had been together 20 years and were due to wed in May 1st 2019 with a honeymoon cruise to the Baltic booked and planned. At his funeral over a 100 former workmates came to pay tribute to a man every single one of them held in high regard. Grahame was a kind, compassionate man, never a wrong word or bad mouthing, just wasn’t his style. He is sorely missed every day, especially by his beloved niece Evie, who he absolutely as she did him.

Legacies are another way in which you can honour a loved one’s memory and that gift allows their memory to live on long into the future, allowing us to save lives of future generations in their name. If you have included such a special gift in your Will, you can now show that on your loved one’s page with a pledge, or you can request to learn more about legacies with our free Gifts in Wills Guide.
