A quick response 
to save Penny’s life
Last summer, a holiday to Whitby turned into a medical emergency for Penny, a 19-month-old toddler who had already faced a life-changing battle before. Less than a year earlier, at just 8 months old, Penny had undergone a lifesaving liver transplant at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. But as her family gathered for a relaxing summer break, Penny’s health suddenly took a turn for the worse.

Medic54 were tasked to a patient who had fallen at 16:56 and were on scene at 17:13. The crew treated an unwell patient before conveying them to hospital by land.
Medic53 were tasked to a medical emergency involving a child at 20:27 and were on scene at 20:50. The crew treated a patient who was having seizures, before transferring them to hospital by land.

Medic54 were tasked to a fall at 04:01 and were on scene at 04:26. The crew worked alongside EMAS to treat a patient before they were transported to hospital by land.
