Northamptonshire business donates more than £5,000 to support local charity’s vital missions

Nene Valley Crematorium have donated more than £5,000 to support the lifesaving missions of Your Local Air Ambulance (YLAA) in Northamptonshire.

The Crematorium in Northamptonshire has kindly donated an amazing £5,667.00 to the local charity as part of their metal recycling scheme.

The metal recycling scheme with explicit consent from the bereaved families recovers metals remaining after cremation, such as orthopaedic implants and coffin fixtures to prevent them being buried or sent to landfill. These materials are then recycled and the net proceeds donated to bereavement and local charities just like Your Local Air Ambulance.

The total donated to the charity to date is £20,667.00 including a £15,000 donation in 2022 – these vital funds help the charity to continue their lifesaving missions in Northamptonshire and further afield.

Your Local Air Ambulance brings rapid emergency care to communities across Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland.

From road traffic collisions and cardiac arrests to strokes, serious falls and workplace accidents the crew are available to respond by helicopter or critical care car 24/7, 365 days a year.

Molly Norton, Community Fundraising Relationship Executive for the charity said:

“On behalf of the charity I would like to say a big thank you to Nene Valley Crematorium for choosing to support our charity and the incredibly generous donation they have given us.”

“Without support just like this we wouldn’t be able to respond and deliver critical care when it is needed most,” she expressed.

“The team at Nene Valley Crematorium have a long history of raising funds for charities and I am sure this donation will make a considerable difference to the work done by Your Local Air Ambulance,” said Cllr Tom Patridge-Underwood, Chair of the Nene Valley Crematoria Board.

The Air Ambulance Service comprises of Your Local Air Ambulance bringing rapid emergency care and the National Children’s Air Ambulance, a unique hospital transfer service for critically ill children and babies across the UK. The charity has launched its ‘Big Bases Appeal’ to help fund the future of its lifesaving work across the region.
