Our service performs life saving transfers for critically ill children, babies and infants across the UK. We ensure that they reach the treatment they need, as quickly as possible.
We receive no government funding, but your donations mean that we can save more lives together. Below you can see some of the positive impact we’ve been able to have on people because of you.

Kathleen’s Appeal
Baby Kathleen was born with suspected brain damage and transferred 147 miles to receive the urgent care she needed. When she was well enough to travel, we flew her back home in under an hour.

Indigo’s Appeal
When baby Indigo suffered a series of strokes, she needed to reach specialist care 340 miles away. We flew her to the care she needed in under 3 hours.
Joshua’s Appeal
Joshua was born prematurely while his family were on holiday, and needed hospital care. When he was strong enough to travel, we flew him to a hospital closer to his home.
Theo’s Appeal
Baby Theo needed urgent hospital treatment, 268 miles from home. We flew him to the care he needed in just over 2 hours.
Ellie’s Appeal
Ellie was born prematurely and needing surgery to survive. The nearest hospital who could help save her was 114 miles away. We flew her there in just 42 minutes for the care she needed.
Dolly’s Appeal
Baby Dolly was born premature and unwell. At just a few weeks old, she needed urgent care. We transferred her, and a team of specialists to London for the treatment she needed, before returning her home when she was well enough.
World Prematurity Day
The National Children’s Air Ambulance transfers critically ill children from local hospitals to specialist paediatric centres throughout the UK. It also moves specialist teams and equipment to local hospitals when a child is too sick to travel. This national service is the only dedicated helicopter transfer service in the UK.
Oscar’s Appeal
When Oscar was born, there were concerns that her was seriously unwell. At just a few days old, we flew him 168 miles to receive the specialist care he urgently needed.
Isabella’s Appeal
Isabella had to be born by emergency C-section after her mum was involved in a road traffic collision. She was taken to a specialist hospital 172 miles away. When she was strong enough, we brought her home.
National Appeal
The Children’s Air Ambulance is a national inter-hospital transfer service that flies critically ill babies and children to receive the lifesaving treatment they need.
