WILL YOU help us TO KEEP A CHILD ALIVE?

Baby Kathleen was born with suspected brain damage and transferred 147 miles to receive the urgent care she needed. When she was well enough to travel, we flew her back home in under an hour.

Our helicopters are flying intensive care units for babies and children. We urgently need you to say “yes” and help to provide this lifesaving support. We receive no government funding and rely on your donations to help us save more lives together

Kathleen’s Story

When Kathleen and her mother Claire were separated just moments after her birth, every second counted. An emergency C-section saved Kathleen’s life, but with suspected brain damage, she needed urgent hypothermia treatment. Kathleen was transferred 147 miles away by land ambulance to be treated but Claire was only well enough to join her baby girl two days later.

After five days, doctors were happy for Kathleen to return to Doncaster and thanks to supporters like you, the Children’s Air Ambulance was there to help. With the support of a specialist neonatal team from Embrace, Kathleen and Claire flew home together in just 49 minutes, compared to a journey via road which would have taken just under three hours.

Four days after they returned home, Kathleen was discharged, and doctors confirmed she hadn’t suffered any long-term damage from her traumatic birth. It was the greatest gift for all the family when they were reunited two days before Christmas. Kathleen met her three siblings, and they were able to spend quality time together as a family.

Will you help us save more lives?

When every second counts, we’re there.

Without donations, the Children’s Air Ambulance would not have been able to say yes and help save Kathleen. Each rescue mission costs over £5,500, but your donation today, whatever the amount, will help keep us flying for more families like Kathleen’s, offering a future filled with hope.

Together, we save more lives.
