A quick response 
to save Penny’s life
Last summer, a holiday to Whitby turned into a medical emergency for Penny, a 19-month-old toddler who had already faced a life-changing battle before. Less than a year earlier, at just 8 months old, Penny had undergone a lifesaving liver transplant at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. But as her family gathered for a relaxing summer break, Penny’s health suddenly took a turn for the worse.

EXPLORE LATEST MISSIONS
Helimed54 received a call to a cardiac arrest at 14.43pm and arrived on scene at 15.03pm. Patient was resuscitated on scene by our critical care team before being taken to hospital by land ambulance.
Medic54 received a call to assist LIVES at 16.58pm and were on the scene at 17.14pm. Patient was reassessed and flown to hospital.
Medic54 received a call at 1.27am and were on the scene at 1.50am. Multiple patients with minor injuries but 2 patients were treated and handed over to EMAS crew for conveyance to hospital.
Medic53 received a call to an RTC at 14.26pm and were on scene at 14.32pm. Patient was treated and accompanied to hospital via land ambulance.
Medic54 received a call to an RTC at 06.13am and were on the scene at 06.36am. Two patients involved, with one taken by land ambulance to hospital and the other remained with EMAS paramedics.
Medic53 received a call to a 2 car RTC at 22.40pm and arrived on scene at 22.52pm. 3x patients were treated with one receiving advanced analgesia. All were land assisted to hospital with WMAS crews.
Medic54 received a call at 11.23am and were on the scene at 11.40am. Patient assessed and treated following RTC before being taken to hospital by land crew.
Medic53 received a call to a sports-related injury at 19.35pm and were on scene at 20.05pm. Patient was treated and accompanied to hospital via land ambulance for further care.
Helimed53 received a call out to a cardiac arrest at 13.40pm and were on scene at 13.55pm. Patient was resuscitated on scene and then escorted via to land to hospital for further care.
GPICU completed a transfer with Clinical partner Team CATS, in just 31 minutes which would have taken over 2hours by road.
Helimed54 received a call at 11.52am and arrived on scene at 12.12pm to an RTC involving a motorcycle and car. The crew arrived to support EMAS crew and treat patient before flying them to hospital.
Helimed54 received a call to a cardiac arrest at 09.00am and arrived on scene at 09.10am. Patient was resuscitated on scene before being stabilised and taken to hospital by land ambulance.

In total, we fly 4 helicopters across the charity, 2x for our local service and 2x for our Children’s Air Ambulance. We also have 2x Critical Care Cars that support our HEMs services.
Our local service covers 5x counties; Warwickshire, Northamptonshire and Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland.
The Children’s Air Ambulance covers the whole of the UK and works with 10 Clinical Partner Teams from various specialist hospitals.
We provide a rapid response to medical emergencies in the counties of Warwickshire, Northamptonshire and Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland, however, we do support air ambulances further afield if we’re needed.
The Children’s Air Ambulance operates throughout the UK and works with Clinical Partner Teams from specialist hospitals.
