A quick response 
to save Penny’s life
Last summer, a holiday to Whitby turned into a medical emergency for Penny, a 19-month-old toddler who had already faced a life-changing battle before. Less than a year earlier, at just 8 months old, Penny had undergone a lifesaving liver transplant at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. But as her family gathered for a relaxing summer break, Penny’s health suddenly took a turn for the worse.

Medic54 were called to a sporting trauma at 19.22pm and were on scene at 19.40pm. Patient was had suffered limb injuries and was conveyed to hospital by land ambulance.
Medic54 were called to an assault at 21.42pm and were on scene at 21.56pm. Patient was assessed and we assisted to hospital for further treatment.
Helimed54 were called to a sporting trauma at 10.07am and were on scene at 10.32am. Patient was involved in horseriding incident and we assisted with the transfer out of location.
Helimed53 were called to a fall at 15.32pm and were on scene at 15.46pm. Patient was assessed by our crew before being taken to hospital by EMAS.
Helimed53 were called to a cardiac arrest at 11.44am and were on scene at 11.57am. Patient was given CPR and AED shocks by bystander before being resuscitated on scene by our crew and taken to hospital for specialist care.
Helimed54 received a call to an RTC at 12.25pm and were on scene at 12.43pm. Patient suffered leg injury and was sedated on scene for realignment, before being transferred to hospital.
Helimed54 attended a sporting trauma at 12.39pm and were on scene at 12.55pm. Patient had been struck by a horse and suffered serious injury. Crew anaesthetised patient before flying to hospital for further treatment.
Medic54 received a call to an RTC at 7.05am and were on scene at 7.22am. Patient was assessed when freed from under vehicle and escorted to hospital via land ambulance.
Helimed54 received a call to a fall at 13.24pm and were on scene at 13.46pm. Patient had a fall when outside walking and was assessed before being flown to hospital for further treatment.
Medic54 received a call to a cardiac arrest at 9.30am and were on scene at 9.34am. Dispatached to incident by Critical Care Car and patient was escorted to hospital by land ambulance.
G-PICU worked alongside NEST to transfer a patient from the South East to a specialist hospital in 1hr 12 minutes. This journey by land ambulance would have taken nearly over 3 hours.
Medic53 received a call to a medical incident at 13.53pm and were on scene at 14.03pm. Patient was in cardiac arrest and was resuscitated on scene before being conveyed to hospital with TAAS team.
