A quick response 
to save Penny’s life
Last summer, a holiday to Whitby turned into a medical emergency for Penny, a 19-month-old toddler who had already faced a life-changing battle before. Less than a year earlier, at just 8 months old, Penny had undergone a lifesaving liver transplant at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. But as her family gathered for a relaxing summer break, Penny’s health suddenly took a turn for the worse.

Medic54 were called to an RTC at 18.22pm and were on scene at 18.44pm. The patient was assessed on scene and was taken to hospital by land ambulance.
Helimed54 were called to an RTC at 19.56pm and were on scene at 20.16pm. The patient was assessed on scene and was taken to hospital by land ambulance.
Helimed54 were called to an RTC at 17:31pm and were on scene at 17:41pm. The patient assessed on scene and was taken to hospital by land ambulance.
Helimed53 were called to an RTC at 12.56pm and on scene at 13:06pm. Our crews assisted with extrication and provided medical care. The patient was handed over to WMAS and transferred to hospital by land ambulance.
Helimed54 were called to a sports incident at 15:47pm and were on scene at 16:07pm. The patient had been involved in a horse riding accident and suffered a head injury. Our crews conveyed the patient to hospital with WMAS.
Helimed54 were called to a fall at 8:45am and were on scene at 9:00am. Patient was given pain relief before being handed over to EMAS.
Helimed53 were called to an RTC at 8.09am and on scene at 8.30am. Patient was assessed and treated for hip injury efore being handed over to WMAS.
Helimed54 were called to a fall at 11.17am and on scene at 11.35am. We assisted EMAS with an incident where a patient had fallen from height. They were assesed before being transferred to hospital.
Helimed54 were called to a medical incident at 12.07pm and on scene at 12.24pm. Patient was suffering cardiac arrest so advanced skills were used before they were transferred to a specialist hospital for urgent care.
Helimed53 were called to an RTC at 11.08pm and on scene at 11.14pm. Assisted WMAS with a patient involved in RTC who was assessed and treated for head and arm injuries.
Helimed53 were called to a medical incident at 11.57pm and on scene at 12.07pm. Patient was suffering a heart attack and medical care was provided before they were conveyed to hospital with TAAS.
G-TCAA worked alongside SORT to transfer a patient from the South to a specialist hospital in just 28 minutes. This journey by land ambulance would have taken over 2.5 hours.
