A quick response 
to save Penny’s life
Last summer, a holiday to Whitby turned into a medical emergency for Penny, a 19-month-old toddler who had already faced a life-changing battle before. Less than a year earlier, at just 8 months old, Penny had undergone a lifesaving liver transplant at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. But as her family gathered for a relaxing summer break, Penny’s health suddenly took a turn for the worse.

Medic54 were called to attend a fall at 8.53am and were on scene at 9.15am. Patient had fallen from window. Our crew assisted WMAS and transported patient to hospital by land.
G-PICU worked alongside SONET to transfer a patient from the South to a specialist hospital in 39mins. This journey by land ambulance would have taken 1.5hrs.
Medic53 were called to attend a fall at 19.05pm and were on scene at 19.20pm. Elderly patient had fallen and required analgesia intervention to enable a safe transfer to hospital.
Medic53 were called to attend a medical incident at 20.10pm and were on scene at 20.39pm. Assisted WMAS with a patient who had suffered cardiac arrest from a suspected heart attack. Conveyed to hospital for further care.
G-TCAA worked alongside NWTS to transfer a patient from the North to a specialist hospital in just 50 minutes. This journey by land ambulance would have taken nearly 3 hours.
Helimed54 were called to attend an industrial incident at 12.53pm and were on scene at 13.06pm. Patient was transported to hospital following an incident with livestock.
G-PICU worked alongside CATS to transfer a patient from the South to a specialist hospital in 39mins. This journey by land ambulance would have taken over 2hrs.
Medic54 were called at 20.27pm and were on scene at 20.46pm to assist with a patient stuck in mud or possible quicksand. They were extricated by fire crews and assessed by our team before being conveyed to hospital.
Helimed54 were called to attend an RTC at 15.46pm and were on scene at 15.56pm. Patient involved in low speed RTC and was assessed before being transported to hospital with EMAS.
Helimed54 were called to attend a fall at 12.23pm and were on scene at 12.36pm. Patient had fallen down the stairs and critical care skills required. Assisted EMAS and transferred the patient to hospital by land.
Helimed53 were called to attend a sporting incident at 13.46pm and were on scene at 14.00pm. Assisted EMAS with patient assessment and treatment following an off-road collision. Patient transported by road to hospital.
G-TCAA worked alongside EMBRACE to transfer a patient from the North to a specialist hospital in just 21 minutes. This journey by land ambulance would have taken over an hour.
