A quick response 
to save Penny’s life
Last summer, a holiday to Whitby turned into a medical emergency for Penny, a 19-month-old toddler who had already faced a life-changing battle before. Less than a year earlier, at just 8 months old, Penny had undergone a lifesaving liver transplant at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. But as her family gathered for a relaxing summer break, Penny’s health suddenly took a turn for the worse.

G-PICU worked alongside Embrace to transfer a patient from the South in just 1hr 4 minutes. This journey by land ambulance would have taken over 3 hours.
Helimed53 were called to an fall at 16.00pm and were on scene at 16.16pm. Patient had fallen from horse and sustained minor leg injury. Left with other service for further care.
Helimed53 were called to a fall at 10.30am and were on scene at 10.42am. Patient had sustained head injury and was escorted to hospital with TAAS in land ambulance.
Helimed53 were called to an RTC at 15.10pm and were on scene at 15.25pm. Minor cycle injury where we assisted other service who then transported the patient to hospital.
Helimed54 were called to an incident at 18.23pm and were on scene at 18.42pm. Patient was assessed after suffering accidental burns and was flown to hospital for further care.
Medic53 were called to an RTC at 21.59pm and were on scene at 22.05pm. First on scene at incident and assessed patient before handing over to EMAS crew.
Helimed54 were called to a leisure incident at 12.36pm and were on scene at 12.53pm. Patient was treated after falling from bike before being flown to hospital for further care.
Medic54 were called to an RTC at 23.35pm and were on scene at 23.52pm. Patient sustained shoulder injury where analgesia was administered and they were ground assisted to hospital for further care.
Helimed54 were called to attend an RTC at 15.49pm and were on scene at 16.08pm. Patient had head injury and anaesthetic was administered on scene before being taken to hospital for further care.
Helimed53 were called to a medical incident at 10.46am and were on scene at 10.55am. Patient in cardiac arrest resuscitated and anaesthesia provided on scene and before being taken to hospital for further care.
Helimed53 were called to a medical incident at 15.54pm and were on scene at 16.07pm. Worked alongside WMAS on patient in cardiac arrest who was conveyed with TAAS to hospital by land ambulance.
Helimed54 were called to an RTC at 15.56pm and were on scene at 16.09pm. TAAS were first medical resource on scene and 4x patients were assessed before being left with other service to convey to hospital.
