A quick response 
to save Penny’s life
Last summer, a holiday to Whitby turned into a medical emergency for Penny, a 19-month-old toddler who had already faced a life-changing battle before. Less than a year earlier, at just 8 months old, Penny had undergone a lifesaving liver transplant at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. But as her family gathered for a relaxing summer break, Penny’s health suddenly took a turn for the worse.

EXPLORE LATEST MISSIONS
G-TCAA worked alongside Embrace to transfer a patient to the South in just 1hr 20mins. This journey by land ambulance would have taken 3hrs 43mins.
G-PICU worked alongside Comet to transfer a patient to the South in just 59mins. This journey by land ambulance would have taken 2hrs 40mins.
Medic54 were called to an RTC at 18.30pm and on scene at 18.56pm. Assessed young patient on scene who was conveyed by land to hospital for further care.
Medic54 were called to an RTC at 22.04pm and on scene at 22.17pm. Patient involved in RTC was assessed and EMAS transferred to hospital for continued care.
Medic54 were called to an RTC at 22.12pm and on scene at 22.40pm. Patient sustained minor injuries following a collision and was left with other services after assessment.
Medic54 were called to a medical incident at 16.29pm and on scene at 16.46pm. Patient choking was in respiratory arrest. They were anaesthetised and obstruction was removed before being taken to hospital for further care.
Medic53 were called to an RTC at 00.38am and on scene at 00.55am. Series RTC. All patients were stable but with serious injuries, with two requiring escort to hospital by critical care team.
Medic53 were called to a fall at 22.36pm and on scene at 23.04pm. Patient sustained head injury following a fall and was left with other service following assessment by TAAS.
Medic53 were called to an RTC at 6.19am and on scene at 7.02am. Patient was assessed and escorted to hospital with TAAS by land ambulance following multi-vehicle collision.
G-TCAA worked alongside Embrace to transfer a patient to the South in just 1hr 8mins. This journey by land ambulance would have taken over 4hrs 45mins.
Medic54 were called to a medical incident at 4.26am and on scene at 4.49am. Patient in cardiac arrest on EMAS arrival was successful resuscitated before being taken to hospital with other service for further care.
Helimed53 were called to a RTC at 13.04pm and on scene at 13.19pm. Patient involved in RTC was assessed, treated and transported to hospital for further care.
